SpiderClimbing is a rope-climbing activity students love. It is a creative, success-oriented experience and the closest they will ever come to walking on walls. Zig-zag Climbing and Horizontal Traversing At the heart of every SpiderClimber is a 7 foot (2.1m) version of our standard 1 1/2 dia. (3.8cm) climbing rope, uniquely configured for use with the SuspensionBar and Brackets from our TraversingMat System. In less than a minute, the rope can be mounted and ready for multiple movement challenges ranging from a 7 foot (2.1m) Christmas-tree-shaped zig-zag pattern climb to a 24 foot (7.3m) horizontal traverse.* The challenges are unique because they are performed in a rappelling position, with feet to wall. An Economy Ticket to Moving On Down the Wall We designed the SuspensionBar and Brackets for the TraversingMat and CargoMat Systems, so they have multiple uses. SpiderClimbers are the perfect example of that system flexibility. They can be mixed in with the TraversingMat/CargoMat panels or purchased separately. If you've already purchased any of the Mat Systems, you already own everything (Bars and Brackets) you need for SpiderClimbing, except the ropes. Conversely, buying SpiderClimbers first saves you money in building your TraversingMat/CargoMat program by eliminating suspension hardware costs.
